News: 27 February 2008. Minor change to AuSHRM Constitution. After review by the ACT Registrar-General's Office (the Society is incorporated as an Association in the ACT) the Constituition has undergone a minor revision. Clause 48.1, which sets the minimum proportion of the membership that must approve any change to the Constitution, has been increased from 60 per cent to seventy-five percent. This change brings the Society's Constitution in line with Associations Incorporation Act (1991). View the Constitution...

About AuSHRM

The Australasian Society for Healthcare Risk Management (AuSHRM) is the peak national body for risk managers, risk, quality, safety and finance managers, administrators, clinicians, lawyers and consultants who hold a risk management role in the healthcare sector in Australasia, New Zealand and South East Asia.

The Society promotes effective and innovative healthcare risk management through education, professional development, advocacy, communications, research and innovation. It also provides an authoritative voice on issues relevant to healthcare risk management.

Members are offered an opportunity to share their knowledge and resources in the rapidly growing area of healthcare risk management. AuSHRM offers members:

Whilst AuSHRM is not bound by the privacy legislation, as the Act refers to companies with turnover of more than $3 million per annum, AuSHRM supports the spirit of the legislation and aims to comply with the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 which came into effect on 21 December 2001. Individuals and corporate entities may obtain a copy of the policy and/or gain access to the information stored by AuSHRM by contacting the AuSHRM Secretariat.

AuSHRM understands the concern you may have for your privacy and is committed to protecting this information, using it only for ASHRM’s primary purpose of providing an outstanding service to its members and to allow prompt contact where necessary. In addition, it will allow for continuous improvement.

A number of AuSHRM functions are outsourced. Information obtained from the AuSHRM membership form, and subsequent renewal of membership, is provided to contractors from time to time to enable these functions to occur.

Where lawful and practicable, individuals have the option of not identifying themselves when entering transactions with AuSHRM. Members who do not wish to receive information about AuSHRM’s products or services, nor have their details disclosed to a third party, should inform the Secretariat in writing.
